  • Graduated in Medicine from the Université catholique de Louvain (UCL) in 2004
  • Specialist degree in Paediatrics in 2009 and in Neonatology from UCL in 2011
  • Specialist degree in Paediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition from Pierre and Marie Curie University (France) in 2012
  • Doctorate in Medical and Pharmaceutical Sciences from UCL in 2012
  • Researcher then consultant in paediatric pancreatology and cystic fibrosis at the Hospital for Sick Children, Toronto, Canada, in 2015 and 2016

Professor Scheers is a paediatric gastroenterologist. She specialises in pancreatic disease in children.

Professor Scheers is a board member of the Belgian Pancreatic Club and member of the

Belgian Society for Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition and the European Society for Pediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition. She has published a number of articles in leading medical journals.
